Fashion Collabs Title Page.png

Brands know just what they’re doing when collaborating on special projects with other reputable designers. Widening audiences, diversifying styles and foreshadowing crazy website crashes, the infamous designer collaboration wagon is picking up steam this summer. So jump on board.

Travis Scott x Dior

French fashion house Christian Dior has collaborated with Houston native Travis Scott to present Cactus Jack Dior. With its riotous debut in the Summer 2022 Men’s Dior show in Paris, the collection features a pallet of mauve and brown earth tones, vibrant lime hues and crisp whites to create a cool, finely tailored presentation of men’s style. This is the fashion house’s first ever full collection created with a musician.

Christian Louboutin x Idris & Sabrina Elba

Idris Elba and his wife Sabrina Elba have teamed up with the French designer for a capsule collection called Walk A Mile In My Shoes. This collection, set to debut this summer, will give 100% of its proceeds to grassroots organizations that are combating racial inequity and injustice around the world.

Theophilio x Black Fashion Fair

Jamaican-American designer Edvin Thompson of Theophilio and Black Fashion Fair Founder and Editorial Director Antoine Gregory have linked up to release a capsule collection determined to tell the story of Black culture, family life, and community through photography and fashion. The collection, Family Portrait II, features black, brown, and grey t-shirts that showcase images of Black life. The collection also allows shoppers to personalize shirts with their own family portrait.

Telfar X Everybody

Ok, maybe not everybody but it sure seems like Telfar designer Telfar Clemens has his hands in everything and rightly so. Most recently the hard to get brand shared the news that his label will be Liberia’s 2021 Olympic Uniforms. Another release of collaborations with Converse and Ugg offers easy to wear comfort. In the early weeks of July, Telfar teased us with a image of yet another collab with Canadian outerwear brand Moose Knuckles set to drop this winter. Needless to say, you better get your hands on some of these drops before they’re gone.

Yeezy x Gap

This one is a heavily anticipated drop and so far we have only seen a glimpse of one piece from this collection – a color-captivating aquatic blue round jacket that is yes, of course, sold out. First announced last June, Kanye West has touted his love for the Gap brand since 2004 in his music. The self-professed “Steve Jobs of Gap” might actually manifest as the world awaits a release date later this year.

Skims x Team USA

The Kim Kardashian shapewear brand, Skims, will be the official loungewear, underwear, and pajamas for female American athletes at the Tokyo Olympic and Paralympic Games this summer. The Skims Olympian line will be available online for public consumption in July.

Balenciaga x Crocs

Hmmm. This one is, well, interesting. Debuting in Balenciaga’s Spring 2022 collection, the croc clog with an attached stiletto is exactly that – a croc clog with an attached stiletto. Named Balenciaga Crocs 2.0, the $1,000 shoe will be available in black and bright green. A release date is still unknown. These will definitely be for the bold, daring, I-break-all-rules fashionista or simply just the label whore.

The Balenciaga’s spring runway also showcased a continuation of the Balenciaga and Gucci collaboration dubbed The Hacking Project. The eponymous GGs of Gucci get transformed into Bs for Balenciaga in some of Gucci’s most recognizable and coveted styles.

Lauren London x Puma

Actress, model, and Puma Ambassador Lauren London launched her first capsule collection, The Forever Strong Collection, late June. Authentic to her LA style and motto for life, the collection is a reminder that life’s curveballs can make you stronger. The line pays homage to her soulmate and love, the late rapper Nipsey Hussle, with t-shirts and hoodies embroidered with a blue heart on the sleeve. The collection also features black and white suede sneakers with a debossed Forever Stronger stamp at the heel.

DJ Khaled x Dolce & Gabbana

The voice of hype and genius production, DJ Khaled, has collaborated with Italian fashion house Dolce & Gabbana to produce a collection for men, women, and kids where a perfect pairing of “tropical atmospheres and Mediterranean tastes” meet. Featuring both clothing and accessories, the messaging behind the line reads strength and pride as lion motifs and graffiti-inspired designs decorate a size inclusive array of clothing bursting with color and natural wonder.

Louis Vuitton x Nike Air Force 1

Artistic director of Louis Vuitton and founder/CEO of Off-White, Virgil Abloh did not come to play. But, we already knew that. The ever iconic designer unveiled a collection of sneakers at the Louis Vuitton Menswear Spring 2022 runway show in Paris in June. Fluorescent greens and Damier patterns, oh my! This upcoming series boasts an array of colors with a release date unknown. Some of ya’ll will definitely lose sleep (and coins) over this collab.

Saweetie x Matte Collection

The Bay-area rapper has teamed up with the Black female founded Matte Collection swimwear line for a limited time capsule collection that launched late June and is nearly sold out. Brightly colored three piece sets and cover ups complete the barely there, sexy collection. Prices range from $30-$32.
